Bad Badger NASCAR Pick 3: Week 9 Results!

Thursday, May, 9 2013

For the 2nd time this year, the listener swept the panel!  Congratulations to Don on his $25 Gift Card.

Each week, one WSCO listern picks 3-drivers for the race.  We add up the finishing position of all-3 drivers and put the total up against the picks of MRN Radio's Alex Hayden, my Dad, and myself.  A bonus of (-10) is given if you pick the winning driver in your trio.  Remember, points are BAD!  It is like Golf.  The more "experts" you beat, the more you win!

NFL Prospect Preview: Florida International Safety Jonathan Cyprien

Thursday, Apr, 25 2013

Jonathan Cyprien surprised a lot of people when he was invited to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.  He was thought of as a late round guy so the invite didn't make sense.  Once he got on the practice field, he turned heads.  Cyprien has a chance to be a good one in the NFL.  He sounds like a hybrid of the other safeties in the first two rounds which could either be a good thing or a bad thing.

Here is my conversation with David Neal of the Miami Herald on Cyrpien

When talking about Cyrpien and Green Bay, his school stands out.  Florida International.  With Darren Sharper (William & Mary) and Nick Collins (Bethune Cookman) two of the more successful Packer safeties of late, one has to think another small school guy can do it, right?  I could see him getting picked at #26.

NFL Prospect Preview: Florida Safety Matt Elam

Thursday, Apr, 25 2013

Elam is a guy that if you have seen him play you absolutely loves what he brings.  He plays like a guy that you would want on your side if you ever got into a fight.  Elam's 4-picks and 5-passes broken up in 2012 put some numbers on his resume to go with the tape that shows his play.  His downsize is his size.  At under 5' 10", can he match up to the height he will see in the NFL?

Here is my coversation with Cody Jones of FightinGators.com on Elam

I would be SHOCKED if the Packers picked Elam.  As much praise as he has gotten, and deservingly so, if there is a GM in Football that takes guys off his board for being undersized it is Ted Thompson.  With guys like Eric Reid and Jonathan Cyprien fitting the physical mold, Elam shouldn't have to worry if Green Bay isn't an ideal destination for him.
