If the NFL Playoffs started today...

Tuesday, Nov, 20 2012

The time of the NFL season has come where all the bye weeks are over and everyone has played the same number of games!  The final six weeks of the season will be a sprint to the post season.  As previous years have indicated, it won't necessarily be the best teams from the regular season, but the hottest teams.

For the next six weeks, I will bring you "what if the playoffs started today" where I will take a look at what the match-ups would be and give a current prediction to what will happen.  Of course, its early, but its fun.  That's the point of a blog, right?

1.) Atlanta Falcons (9-1)
2.) San Francisco 49ers (7-2-1)
3.) Green Bay Packers (7-3)
4.) New York Giants (6-4)
5.) Chicago Bears (7-3)
6.) Minnesota Vikings (6-4)

NFC Wild Card Round

AFC Seeds
1.) Houston Texans
2.) Balitmore Ravens
3.) New England Patriots

Broncos over Colts
Patriots over Steelers

AFC Divisional Round

Patriots over Ravens

AFC Championship Game
Patriots over Broncos

Miami vs Buffalo: YAY Football!!!

Thursday, Nov, 15 2012

Really?  I am a fan of the concept of Thursday Night Football cause I am an American Male, any excuse to drink beer and eat wings on a Thursday is a good thing!  HOWEVER, some of the match-ups this year have been BRUTAL!

I know, the NFL wanted every team to have one Thursday game for the competitive balance of the league.  I get that.  But as fans, we don’t want competitive balance!  We want GREAT MATCHUPS!  This one just sucks…

Good Thursday Match-ups:  Cowboys-Giants* (Week 1), Packers-Bears (Week 2), Giants-Panthers (Week 3), 49ers-Seahawks (Week 7), Texans-Lions** (Week 12), Cowboys-Redskins** (Week 12), Patriots-Jets** (Week 12), Saints-Falcons (Week 13)

Bad Thursday Match-ups: Ravens-Browns (Week 4), Rams-Cardinals (week 5), Titans-Steelers (Week 6), Bucs-Vikings (Week 8), Chargers-Chiefs (Week 9), Jaguars-Colts (Week 10), Dolphins-Bills (Week 11), Broncos-Raiders (Week 14), Bengals-Eagles (Week 15)

* I am aware this was played on a Wednesday
** Thanksgiving
