Brewers visit Giants - Preview

The Milwaukee Brewers continue their 9-game road trip Friday with the first of three in San Francisco.

The Brewers and Giants met earlier this month at Miller Park with the Brewers taking 2 of 3.  The Brewers have a remarkable 20-9 record against the National League west this season.

Both teams are in the playoff picture as August wraps this weekend.  The Brewers lead St. Louis by a narrow margin (1.5) for the NL Central lead.  The Giants are a handful (4.5) back of the Dodgers for the top spot in the NL West.  As for the Wild Card, the Giants are up (1.5) on Atlanta for the 2nd one.

   Milwaukee:  Wily Peralta (15-8, 3.56 ERA)
   San Francisco: Ryan Vogelson  (7-9, 3.78 ERA)
Saturday – 8:05 First Pitch, 7:30 pregame on 95.3 FM/AM 1570 WSCO
   Milwaukee:  Mike Fiers (4-1, 1.54 ERA)
   San Francisco: Jake Peavy  (2-4, 3.18 ERA)
Sunday - 1:10 First Pitch, 12:35 pregame on 1150 WHBY
   Milwaukee:  Kyle Lohse (12-7, 3.42 ERA)
   San Francisco: Madison Bumgarner (15-9, 3.02 ERA)

NL Central Standings:
• Brewers (73-50)
• Cardinals (71-91) – 1.5 GB
• Pirates (69-64) – 4 GB
• Reds (65-69) – 8.5 GB
• Cubs (59-74) – 15 GB

Rest of the NL Central Schedule:
• St. Louis travels to Wrigley Friday to open a 3-game series with the Cubs.
• Pittsburgh hosts Cincinnati Friday for the first of a three game weekend series.
