Packers open preseason Saturday

When the Packers take the field Saturday night in Tennessee for their preseason opener, it will be the first taste of game action for the rookies.

“I’m ready to hit somebody,” third round draft pick Khyri Thornton exclaimed.  “I’ve never seen a different colored jersey in front of me since January, since my all-star game, so I’m ready to finally put the pads on play somebody else.”

It will also be the much anticipated debut of first round pick Haha Clinton-Dix.  The safety out of Alabama has been working behind veterans Micah Hyde and Morgan Burnett at practice.  With Burnett dealing with injuries and the Packers knowing what they have in Hyde, Clinton-Dix could be on the field a lot.

“I’m excited for every game,” Clinton-Dix said, “whether it’s the preseason or regular season.”

The Packers and Titans will kickoff at 7pm Saturday night with coverage starting at 5pm on 1150, WHBY.
