Thomspon gets extension with the Packers


The Packers gave the team;s Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, Ted Thompson, a multi-year contract extension Wednesday afternoon.

“I’m pleased that we were able to enter into this contract extension with Ted,” Team President and CEO Mar Murphy said in a press release. “His outstanding work has been the key factor in the success that we’ve enjoyed in recent years. I have tremendous respect for Ted, and am confident that we will continue to contend for championships under his leadership.”

Thompson is entering his 10th season with the Packers in his current role.  In that time, the team has made six playoff appearences with one Super Bowl Championship in the 2010 season.

The 61 year-old also had a stint in the Packers personell department from 1992 to 1999 under Ron Wolf.
