Lang, Packers take Tuesday off

Packers guard T.J. Lang is one of the players who will benefit from Tuesday’s off-days.  The starting right guard has been dealing with a shoulder injury since reporting to the team last week.

“It wasn’t really anything that I did in particular,” Lang explained.  “I think it was just a little bit of wear-and-tear catching up to me throughout the year.”

Lang has been durable since sliding into a starting role in 2012.  Of the teams’ 48 regular season games since, he has started (and played in) 47.  As Lang enters his sixth NFL season, he doesn’t feel it will be a long term issue.

“All the test were positive.  Nothing to bad came out of it.   Just something I need to rehab focus on a little bit more and take a little bit better care in the future.”

Monday’s practice was the first in pads for the team.  This is a day that Lang and his teammates have been waiting for.

“This time of year is always fun, throwing the pads on.   You got a whole new team, a whole new look to what we’re doing.   You get to see a lot of new faces, a lot of rookies out there.  It’s fun the first day.  It’s what we’ve been waiting for for a long time.”

So far in training camp, Lang has been limited.  With an extra day of rest, he is looking to be a full go when the team gets back to work later in the week.

“Me personally, I’m pretty close to being back.  Maybe Wednesday or Thursday I’ll be back full go.”

The team will practice at 8:20 AM Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Saturday night is Family Night at Lambeau Field.
