Brewers travel to Tampa Bay

After wrapping up their home stand with a 5-2 record last week, the Milwaukee Brewers (59-47) visit the Tampa Bay Rays (51-54) for the first of a three-game series Monday night.

Tampa has been one of the hottest teams in baseball.  Their nine game win streak was snapped Sunday at the hands of Boston Sunday.  The Rays were expected to be one of the biggest sellers at Thursday’s trade deadline, but their recent success has put them in striking distance in the AL East.

Good news on the injury front for the Brewers as second baseman Scooter Gennett may be ready to return to the lineup.  Gennett tweaked a quad muscle late last week.
Here are the probable pitching match-ups:

Monday – 6:10 First Pitch, 5:35 pregame on 1150 WHBY
Milwaukee:  Kyle Lohse (11-4, 3.07 ERA)
Tampa Bay: Jake Odorizzi (6-8, 3.97 ERA)
Tuesday – 6:10 First Pitch, 5:35 pregame on 1150 WHBY
Milwaukee:  Matt Garza (7-7, 3.87 ERA)
Tampa Bay: Alex Cobb (6-6, 3.76 ERA)
Wednesday - 11:10 First Pitch, 10:35 pregame on 1150 WHBY
Milwaukee:  Yovani Gallardo (5-5, 3.57 ERA)
Tampa Bay: David Price (11-7, 3.08 ERA)

• Brewers (59-47)
• Cardinals (56-48) – 2 GB
• Pirates (55-49) – 3 GB
• Reds (52-52) – 6 GB
• Cubs (42-61) – 15 ½ GB
