Brewers to host Mets

The Milwaukee Brewers have regained their cushion in the National League Central.  After sweeping the Cincinnati Reds (51-50) early this week, the lead is 2 ½ games over both the St. Louis Cardinals (54-47)  and Pittsburgh (54-47) Pirates.

Milwaukee welcomes the New York Mets (48-53) to Miller Park tonight for the first of a four game series.  The two teams met in New York in mid-June with Milwaukee taking two of three.

The Mets record may be a little misleading with how they are playing heading into the series.  New York has won 11 of their last 16 games.

Here are the pitching probable:

Thursday – 7:10 First Pitch, 6:35 pregame on 1150 WHBY
Milwaukee:  Matt Garza (6-7, 4.04 ERA)
New York: Dillon Gee (4-2, 2.92 ERA)
Friday – 7:10 First Pitch, 6:35 pregame on 1150 WHBY
Milwaukee:  Yovani Gallardo (5-5, 3.79 ERA)
New York: Zack Wheeler (5-8, 3.78 ERA)
