Brewers win the series opener over the Nationals
Milwaukee won their first game after the All-Star break by beating the Washington Nationals 4-2 at Nationals Park on Friday night. Aramis Ramirez led the Brewers going 1 for 4 with a two RBI single. Scooter Gennett and Khris Davis each knocked out a home run. Pitcher Kyle Lohse (9-4) pitched seven innings, struck out three, allowed one earned-run and took the loss. Closer Francisco Rodriguez pitched the ninth inning and recorded his 28th save this season. Milwaukee improved to 54-43 and will play game two of the three-game series with Washington at Nationals Park on Saturday night.
