MLB All-Star game is tonight, Four Brewers on the roster

The 85th Major League Baseball All-Star Game takes the field tonight in Minneapolis.  Sixty-eight of the game’s best will battle it out for the American and National Leagues with Home Field Advantage in the World Series going to the winning league.

Four Brewers are a part of the National League squad, tying a franchise record which has been set numerous times (2007 the most recent).  Catcher Jonathan Lucroy, 3B Aramis Ramirez and OF Carlos Gomez will all be in the starting lineup for the NL.  Francisco Rodriquez rounds out the quartet of Brewers making the trip.  Only Cincinnati’s has more players on the NL roster with five.

Ramirez was voted in by the fans and will bat 6th in his 3rd career all-star appearance.  Lucroy will be making the start in his first all-star game.  He replaces St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina (thumb injury) who won the fan vote.  Gomez is making his 2nd straight appearance and will bat 9th and play left field.  Gomez slides to the corner spot as Pittsburgh’s Andrew McCutchen will play in center.

Tonight’s first pitch from Target Field is slated for around 7 pm central time.
