Brewers Continue Dominance Over Rockies With Walk-Off Win
Ryan Braun's RBI single in the bottom of the 9th inning gave Milwaukee a 3-2 win Friday night at Miller Park. It was the fifth consecutive win over the Rockies, with all five of those wins coming with the last eight days. Milwaukee starter Kyle Lohse tossed seven strong innings giving up one run on seven hits while striking out four and walking two. The Brewers held a 2-1 lead going to the 9th, but Colorado second baseman Josh Rutledge hit a solo home run to left field off closer Francisco Rodriguez. It was K-Rod's third blown save of the season, but the second time he has been the beneficiary of the Brewers winning in walk-off fashion to give him the win. Mark Reynolds RBI single on Mother's Day gave Rodriguez the win against the Yankees earlier this year following a blown save. The Brewers became the first team in baseball to reach the 50 win mark with Friday night's victory. Milwaukee is 50-32 on the year and leads the NL Central by six games over the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers look to make it six straight over the Rockies tomorrow afternoon, the pre-game show begins at 2:35 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 3:10 p.m.
