Lucroy, Crew Beat Mets in Extras

Johnathan Lucroy's 2-run home run in the top of the 13th inning broke a 1-1 tie as Milwaukee beat New York 5-1 Thursday Night at Citi Field.  Lucroy took the second pitch he saw from Mets reliever Carlos Torres and promptly deposited it over the left field wall to five the Crew a 3-1 lead.  Milwaukee tacked on two more runs to break the game open in the four run 13th.  Brewers starting pitcher Kyle Lohse had another strong outing going eight innings giving up one run, unearned, on four hits while striking out three and walking no one.  Zach Duke picked up the win in relief his fourth of the year after pitching a clean inning in the 12th.  The Mets had an opportunity to win the game in the 11th after Brewers reliever Brandon Kintzler loaded the bases, but a ground out and strikeout ended the threat.  Kintzler's two innings of relief was the first time he's gone more than one inning all season long.  Mets starter Jon Niese went toe to toe with Lohse surrendering his only run to Aramis Ramirez on a 2nd inning home run.  The Brewers finish the road trip with a 5-3 record and a 5.5 game lead of the Cardinals in the NL Central.  Milwaukee heads home for a brief three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds. Friday's broadcast gets started at 6:50 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 7:25 p.m.
