Brewers host Pirates for three

After Monday’s off day, the Milwaukee Brewers are back on the field Tuesday night as the Pittsburgh Pirates visit Miller Park for the opener of a three game series.

It’s the first meeting between the teams since the Easter Sunday (April 20th) “melee” in Pittsburgh.  Pirates’ pitcher Gerrit Cole took exception to Brewers OF Carlos Gomez’s reaction to a deep fly ball that turned out to be a triple.  After some choice words, the benches cleared and four players ended up suspended.  Cole was not one of them while Gomez got a three game suspension which he appealed with a decision still looming.  Cole is scheduled to pitch Tuesday.

The injury bug has returned as 3B Aramis Ramirez pulled his hamstring over the weekend.  Manager Ron Roenicke did not have a time frame for Ramirez but said a DL-stint was possible.  However, the team is expected to get RF Ryan Braun back.  Braun has been out since April 26th with an oblique injury.

Probable Pitching Matchups:
- Tuesday (7:10): Gerrit Cole (3-2, 3.64 ERA) vs Marco Estrada (2-1, 3.53 ERA)
- Wednesday (7:10): Francisco Liriano (0-3, 4.64 ERA) vs Wily Peralta (4-2, 2.17 ERA)
- Thursday (12:10): Wandy Rodriguez (0-2, 7.65 ERA) vs Yovani Gallardo (2-2, 2.92 ERA)

All-games can be heard on AM 1150, WHBY.  Pregame times are 6:35 for the night games and 11:35 for the day game.
