Kyle Lohse pitched seven strong innings, allowing five hits, leading the Brewers to a 5-2 victory Wednesday night at Miller Park.  It gave the Brewers the rubber game of the series.

Lohse improved to 4-1 with a 2.38 earned run average and the Brewers won their 16th game (16-6) of the season.  After allowing a run in the first, Lohse settled in and retired 17 of the next 18 batters he would face.

The Brewers have had trouble scoring runs at Miller Park this season, but started to pull out of their funk last night.

Jean Segura was moved from the 2nd spot to the 8th spot in the lineup and he responded with a three-run homer, giving the Brewers a 4-1 lead.  Ryan Braun had just delivered a run-scoring double before Segura’s blast.

Khris Davis added a solo home run in the fourth, his first home run at Miller Park this season.

Tyler Thornburg and Will Smith worked the 8th and Francisco Rodriguez pitched the 9th for his 9th save of the season.

The Brewers are off today.  They’ll open a 3-game weekend series against the Cubs at Miller Park on Friday night.
