Superior could be leaving the WIAC

UW-Superior could be leaving the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) as early as the 2015-16 academic year.

The University has been part of the WIAC for more than 100 years, but has applied to join the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.  Superior’s departure would leave the WIAC with 8 members.

A move would cut travel costs for Superior substantially and allow the school to compete against schools with similar enrollments.
