Brewers fend off Padres

The Milwaukee Brewers returned home to Miller Park and defeated the San Diego Padres in their series opener 4-3 on Monday night.  The Brewers offense struck first with a three-run third inning that was capped off by a solo home run by Aramis Ramirez.  After the Padres answered in the fourth with two runs of their own, Ryan Braun added a RBI single in the fifth the push the Brewers lead 4-2.  In the seventh, the Padres Chris Denorfia added a solo home run to right to tally the final run of the game.  Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless ninth for his eighth save of the season.  Brewers starter Wily Peralta (3-0) picked up the win as he went 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs with two-earned, on six hits and a walk.  With the win, the Brewers continue to lead Major League Baseball with the best record at 15-5 on the season.
