Borland to work out at NFL combine today

The Green Bay Packers haven’t gone out of their way over the years, making room for University of Wisconsin Badger players on their roster.  But the Packers do need inside linebacker help.  Could the Big Ten’s defensive player of the year, Chris Borland change the pattern?

Despite being undersized, Borland was a four-year starter in Madison and some scouts are comparing him to former NFL inside linebackers Zach Thomas or Chris Speilman.

Borland stands less than six feet tall and he doesn’t have long arms, but he doesn’t feel those qualities would stop him from measuring up with the top linebackers coming out of the college ranks.

We’ll see what’s said and written about Borland once he’s done testing today, one thing we’ve learned from Borland during his stay at Wisconsin is that he’s a player that can’t just be measured by his height and weight.
