Seattle uses punishing defense to dismantle Broncos (Video)

One of the best defensive performances in Super Bowl history came last night when the Seattle Seahawks crushed the Denver Broncos, pulling out a 43-18 win in Super Bowl 48 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

It was the number one offense against the number one defense but as it turned out, Peyton Manning and the Broncos were no match.  Manning looked nothing like the quarterback that set an NFL record with 55 touchdown passes this season.

It didn’t help when the Broncos started the game with a safety after the ball was snapped over Peyton Manning’s head on the very first play.  Manning would follow with two interceptions and Denver would commit four turnovers in all.

The Broncos didn’t even pick up a first down until the second quarter (10:13 left).

The Seattle secondary delivered some punishing blows on Denver receivers to the point of intimidation.

Linebacker Malcolm Smith intercepted a Peyton Manning pass late in the second quarter and returned it 69 yards for a touchdown.  Smith was named the games Most Valuable Player.

In the following video, I join Bill Pollock from the Missouri Radio Network to discuss Sunday’s Super Bowl!
